Last year, our great friend and colleague Ken Boak was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
In true Ken fashion, he wanted no fuss, no sympathy and very little attention. Thankfully, the cancer was detected early, Ken received treatment, and we’re delighted to say that, so far, everything is looking positive.

For those who know Ken, this will come as no surprise. He has always been someone who quietly gets on with things, putting others before himself and never asking for recognition.

In fact, if there’s one person who has been the driving force behind so many of SWC’s charity events over the years, it’s Ken. Whether it’s organising events, encouraging others to take part or taking on incredible personal challenges such as his unforgettable Coast to Coast walk, Ken has dedicated countless hours to raising money for charities that mean so much to people.

This year, our charity walk will support three incredible causes, including Prostate Cancer UK, a charity that has now become deeply personal to Ken and all of us at SWC.

On Saturday 15th August, more than 80 members of the SWC family will pull on their bright green charity T-shirts and walk together. Leading the way, just as he always has, will be Ken.

Ken is one of the true champions of SWC. His determination, generosity and unwavering commitment to helping others inspire everyone around him. They say courage isn’t about making the most noise; it’s about quietly carrying on despite the challenges life throws at you. That perfectly sums up Ken.

We are incredibly proud to walk alongside him.

If you are able to support our fundraising, we would be hugely grateful for any donation, no matter how small. Every pound raised helps Prostate Cancer UK continue its vital work supporting men and their families.

Thank you for helping us make a difference.
