We have a wide range of energy ratings that are continuously being revised using the optimal products available to achieve high standards. Our ratings currently include multiple A+ ratings (including a Vertical Sliding Sash Windows) and also an A rating for our PVCu BiFold doors.
SWC Quality Policy
SWC Trade Frames Limited is driven by a desire to offer products that are designed and manufactured with a ‘no compromise’ attitude to achieve high quality and customer service standards.
At SWC Trade Frames Limited we adopt the principles of providing good ‘Process Management’ to help us continually build a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business. We measure and enhance our Quality Systems through:
- Measuring sales & marketing performance in relation to how we win or lose business and how much of each product type we sell
- Monitoring staff absence, health & safety and staff training
- Measuring supplier performance for components parts arriving on-time, in full and that they are of the right quality
- Measuring quotation, order confirmation and lead-time performance
- Measuring reported customer service related concerns
- Measuring our on-time and in full delivery performance (OTIF)
- Measuring the speed and accuracy of our productivity as well as our ability to trap non-conformances before goods reach our customers
- Monitoring our use of energy and recycling of waste
Implementation of the Quality Policy is the responsibility of every member of staff, starting with the Directors and Senior Management Team who set Quality Objectives and take policy decisions which enable the correct action to be implemented throughout the organisation.
As the Managing Director I am fully committed to ensuring the implementation of, and continual improvement of our Quality Management System though the Quality Management Team.
The Quality Policy is a live document, and is regularly reviewed along with the Quality Manual, Quality Documentation and Quality Objectives (KPI’s).
Secured By Design
We have been awarded Secured by Design on our Casement Windows.
So what is Secured By Design?
Established in 1989 Secured By Design (SBD) is owned by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and is the corporate title for a group of national police projects focusing on the design and security for homes, commercial premises and car parks as well as the acknowledgement of quality security products and crime prevention projects. The company operates a licensing scheme and includes member companies who are entitled to use the Secured by Design logo and promote the term ‘Police Preferred Specification’.
In order to qualify for the scheme you must have in place the following standards:
- A Quality Assurance System
- BS 7412 British standard for Fabrication of windows
- BS 7950 Enhanced Security for Casement Windows
Consumers are often mislead by companies or salesman claiming to have British Standards and Secured by Design. Some hardware products are stamped SBD, but this only means that the item has been approved not the overall frame. Casement Windows must be ordered on the BS7950 Security Version of the order forms which includes the fitting of Hinge-bolts All ground level glazing for both windows and doors must include laminated glass to the external pane.

From 1st July 2013 has been mandatory for companies to CE Mark.
The CE Mark literally stands for ‘Conformité Européene’ or European Conformity and it is the manufacturer’s declaration that the product complies with all essential requirements; the declaration is a legal statement, which if proved to be false could be legally challenged. What this actually means to sealed unit manufacturers, toughened glass processors and window and door fabricators and installers is that they have to prove their compliance to all relevant legislation including EN1279, EN 12150 – EN 12600 and EN14351. Unlike the helping hand we received following the revised Building Regulations, there isn’t the same option for CE Marking.
We have a full range of CE marks for our products which are provided for all glazed products supplied on a printed certificate for the home owner. Our CE marks detail various aspects of the frame performance rather than just the bare minimum allowing our customers to use them as a sales tool.
We also provide CE marked Panic Exit Doors – these are only provided as a fully glazed product due to the CE mark on these products being a legal requirement enforceable in court. We were one of the first companies in the country to have our PVCu and Aluminium Panic Exit Doors certified.
